Nice product; not a perfect fit

This is a nice polished fuel door and dresses up a pickup truck nicely. It is heavy and appears as though it will be durable although only time will tell for sure. Installing it is easy but in my case it did not fit out of the box. On my truck ('07 Lincoln Mark LT or similar model years F-150) there is an included adapter which fits onto the existing fuel door hinge mechanism. This new door then screws onto the adapter. However, out of the box the adapter on the one I received did not fit onto the hinge mechanism. I had to file the adapter down a bit to get it to fit. I was careful in trying to file it evenly as to ensure the fit was level and true but without proper machining there was no ideal way to do this. The result is a less than perfect fit. Of course I am rather particular and most people probably won't notice but it will likely bother me each time I fill my tank. Nonetheless, I think it looks cool and I am glad I bought it... just wish it would've fit properly out of the box.

Door fits well. Easy installation. Looks Great. Replaced one just like. Curious to see if this one Oxidizes like first one.
